Deer and their Antlers

Our current Chairman, Chris Bradley is an expert on deer so we knew we were going to learn a lot of interesting facts about deer antlers at our December indoor meeting. We also had the opportunity to hold several specimens, many of them so heavy that it was hard to imagine how the deer managed to carry them around on their heads, especially if they lost one which would make them very lopsided. Bucks shed their antlers every year, replacing them with almost identically shaped ones.
