Beavering Away!

Twice a year the Society has liaison meetings with Forestry England rangers who update us about the work being currently undertaken in Wyre Forest. In November 2023 we learned about the preparations being made for the arrival in early 2024 of a pair of beavers from Scotland. Some trees are being cleared to facilitate the installation of a 1500m stretch of wire netting with pedestrian gates in the area of land and water allocated to the beavers. Elsewhere in the forest, work is being done to establish a habitat for bats.
